The initial phase of illuminating roads on the outskirts and sections of the coastal path has been successfully carried out by Estepona City Council. This comprehensive program aims to enhance energy efficiency by installing solar streetlights and LED luminaires in these spaces. The installation included placing luminaires on 11 access roads to housing developments such as Isdabe, Cortes, Sun Beach, Avenida Flamenca, Boladilla, Nicola, Alberdina, La Cala, Monterroso, Guadalobón, and Arroyo Vaquero. The goal is to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians. Additionally, 15 areas along the coastal path now have streetlights powered by a photovoltaic system. The council has invested in a total of 520 streetlights to ensure adequate lighting in these areas. Furthermore, the second phase of the project has been awarded, which will extend lighting to 6 streets in the suburbs and 7 other roads. This initiative underscores the council’s commitment to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing electricity consumption in public lighting.
