Enhancing the urban furniture related to mobility, the Estepona City Council has approved the acquisition of new canopies for the city buses’ stops. The covered structures will be placed in new locations and will replace existing ones with deficiencies. The canopies must meet specific conditions, such as providing information on transport, promoting public transport, and ensuring visibility for users. Deputy mayor Ana Velasco highlights the importance of these facilities in addressing the growing number of waiting points for users. The initial phase will see the installation of seven shelters, with a total budget of 53,231.4 euros. The shelters will feature a steel structure, tropical wood seats, tempered safety glass walls, and laminated glass roof.
