The cultural project ‘Sofia and the mystery of heaven’ will kick off in Estepona this Thursday, February 5, at 8 p.m. at the Library of Contemporary Cultures. This initiative, designed for primary school students, aims to tackle the sensitive topics of death, absence, and grief in a respectful and constructive manner. The City Council of Estepona, in collaboration with the project, distributed a copy of the book to each of the local primary schools in January. Written by philologist Esther Ráez, sister of the late Pablo Ráez, the book offers a delicate and profound story to help children comprehend loss and mourning through family dialogue and shared memories. The event will provide further insights into the narrative, which not only caters to children but also to the adults guiding them. By sharing Sofia’s journey to comprehend her uncle’s passing, the book encourages open conversations about emotions and the grieving process.
