The safety improvement project at the traffic circle known as ‘Las Hormigas’ on the A-7 in Arroyo Vaquero has been successfully finalized by the City Council. The enhancements included reinforcing luminous vertical signage for speed control, installing reflectors, replacing guardrails, and upgrading lighting around the perimeter. The City Council of Estepona has confirmed the completion of these works, aimed at enhancing security and visibility at the traffic circle. The project, executed by the Operational Brigades, involved replacing 20 meters of guardrails, strengthening luminous vertical signage for safe entry speeds, and installing beacons to improve road visibility. Additionally, the lighting along the outer perimeter of the traffic circle was improved with new luminaires. While these measures enhance safety, the Council emphasizes the need for speed reduction measures, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Development. The construction of this traffic circle in 2015 was a collaborative effort between the government team and the Ministry of Development, responding to the demands of residents and the area’s growth. The traffic circle provides vital access to new commercial and educational facilities, as well as the High Resolution Hospital, facilitating traffic flow in the western part of the municipality and reducing unnecessary detours for daily commuters.
