During the past few weeks, a series of improvement works have been carried out in public schools within the city of Estepona. Mayor José María García Urbano announced that the City Council has overseen more than thirty improvement actions, with an investment exceeding 80,000 euros. These initiatives, predominantly executed by municipal operational teams and some external contractors, were conducted outside of school hours to avoid disruptions to school activities. The enhancements mainly focused on painting, masonry, locksmithing, and plumbing repairs. For instance, at CEIP Sierra Bermeja, renovations were completed in the kindergarten bathrooms and new porch structures were installed in the primary school playgrounds. Similar repairs and upgrades were undertaken at CEIP García Lorca and CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino, including the installation of new rubber flooring and porch structures. CEIP Simón Fernández and CEIP Valeriano López also received maintenance works to address issues like dampness and drainage. Additionally, improvements were made at the Gloria Fuertes Nursery School, CEIP María Espinosa, CEIP Ramón García, CEIP Victor de la Serna, CEIP Isdabe del Mar, and CEIP Antonio Machado, ranging from painting areas affected by dampness to repairing roofs and installing playground equipment. The City Council’s efforts aim to enhance the overall learning environment in educational centers.
