The Estepona City Council has announced the Third Annual Outdoor Speed Painting Contest ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’ for participants over 16 years old. The theme of the contest focuses on capturing the beauty of the old town of Estepona through artistic expression. Artists have the freedom to choose their painting style and will have approximately four hours to complete their work. Participants are required to bring their own materials for the competition. The paintings must be done on a rigid support measuring 50 x 70 centimeters. The contest will take place at Casa de Las Tejerinas, with participants sealing their supports on the same day starting at 08:45. Each artist can submit a maximum of two works, but only one will be considered for the contest. The judging panel, consisting of renowned figures in the art world, will announce the winners at 3 p.m. The first prize winner will receive 600 euros, while the second prize winner will be awarded 300 euros. The top ten participants will also receive diplomas. The winning paintings will become part of the Estepona City Council’s art collection. Selected works will be exhibited at Casa de Las Tejerinas from May 9 to May 20, 2023. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to witness the creative process by walking through the streets of Estepona on the day of the competition.
