Expressing concern at the neglect of the central government, the municipal government team is focusing on two priority issues at the start of the summer season. They are calling on the central government to provide the necessary sand for beach regeneration and to expedite the stabilization works on the coastline to prevent further damage. The City Council has offered to take definitive actions in line with the Directorate General of Coasts, but authorization for corresponding projects has not been granted. Additionally, the impact of the AVE abandonment and railway disconnection by the Pedro Sánchez government on the province’s economy is causing concern. The lack of trust in these services is leading to mobility issues in the Costa del Sol, negatively affecting the service sector and tourism as Easter and summer approach. Hence, the City Council is urging the central government to intervene in these critical matters to enhance the quality of life for citizens.
