The Estepona municipal government is facilitating the city’s participation in a central government initiative by providing six municipal plots for the construction of 109 subsidized housing units. These plots, located in areas like Casas del Padrón, Llanos de la Boladilla, and Camino de Cortes, are compatible with social housing projects. The proposal aligns with Spain’s plan to mobilize 23,000 million euros for housing supply. Mayor José María García Urbano states that this collaboration aims to expedite the construction process and benefit Estepona. The city has already delivered 100 subsidized housing units in Juan Benitez and plans to develop over 1,200 more homes through various initiatives. Additionally, municipal authorities have approved the use of 36 plots for subsidized housing construction, in line with regional housing measures. The potential construction of over a hundred VPO units on these plots demonstrates Estepona’s commitment to affordable housing.
