The City Council is advancing its garden city model by exceeding 800,000 square meters of public gardens. Spring-summer planting has commenced in municipal green areas, where more than 400,000 specimens of various flowers and shrubs will be displayed. This initiative marks a significant step in the annual gardening calendar, scheduled to continue until August. Plants sourced from the municipal nursery aim to maximize resources, reduce costs, and ensure species adapt to the local climate. The planting process covers main avenues, the seafront promenade, city entrances, historical squares, and peripheral areas with vibrant varieties like lobelias, marigolds, nemesias, and gazanias. The spring-summer campaign emphasizes vivid colors and eye-catching compositions to enhance visual appeal. This effort aligns with the ‘Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol’ project, reinforcing the city’s reputation for garden care and maintenance. With over 800,000 square meters of green space, representing a 60 percent increase since 2012, Estepona demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and quality of life.
