The municipal government of Estepona provides details about the complimentary service for the collection of household items via the Green Line app or by calling 951 70 38 49. Residents can also utilize the Punto Limpio and receive discounts on their garbage disposal fees. Each day, the City Council eliminates an average of 12.5 tons of waste, a figure that represents an increase of nearly 20 percent compared to the previous year. Violators of illegal dumping face fines ranging from 2,000 euros to one million euros. Estepona’s City Council emphasizes the availability of a free service for the collection of furniture and household items to maintain the cleanliness of public streets and prevent unauthorized dumping, which tarnishes the municipality’s reputation. Individuals in need of furniture or appliance removal can contact the municipal Cleaning department through the Green Line app or by calling 951 70 38 49. Staff members will schedule a collection time and date for the items to be placed on the curb. This approach minimizes inconvenience to neighbors, pedestrians, and businesses. The Council also highlights that approximately 12.5 tons of waste are removed daily from illegal dumping sites located outside the city, a considerable increase from the previous year. The adverse environmental impact of such actions warrants strict penalties. The Council urges residents to discontinue these practices and utilize the free municipal collection services instead. Additionally, waste can be taken to the Punto Limpio facility in Estepona, where recyclable materials can be dropped off. Those who use this facility at least three times a year are eligible for a 3 percent reduction in their garbage tax. To qualify, taxpayers must submit an application and documentation of their deposits to the Provincial Tax Collection Office. This initiative promotes recycling and environmental preservation.
