Estepona hosts the inaugural Legendary Climb Sierra Bermeja, an official cycling challenge scheduled for June

A race covering 15 kilometers will be timed. Registration is currently available on the dorsalchip platform. The mayor, José María García Urbano; the president of the 24 Hours Sports Foundation, Manuel Vallejo; the race director, Alejandro Rojas; and the representative of the cycling club ‘Tapering del Bueno’, organizers of the event, Domingo Escarcena, introduced the I Subida Mítica Sierra Bermeja, an official cycling competition taking place on June 13 from 09.00 to 12.00 hours. The mayor highlighted the opportunity to partake in this unique experience, emphasizing the chance to enjoy a day of cycling in a special atmosphere and on a remarkable route. The technical details were explained by the race director, Alejandro Rojas, who outlined the three sections of the race. The event will conclude with a celebration at the Fair and Sports Park, featuring food and drink, raffles, and festivities for all participants and the public. Registrations are open at a cost of 18 euros, with included insurance, and can be completed on dorsalchip.com. Participants will receive a package containing various items, including an isotonic drink, energy bar, hydration bottle, ham bag, gel, and more. The organizers expressed their gratitude for the initiative, which has brought cycling back into the spotlight on the day of the ’24 Hours Sports’. Additionally, a Photo Contest will be held during the event, with a cash prize of 100 euros for the best photo submitted. Three photographs per participant can be entered by sending them to ingo@photoestepona.com. The winning photo will become the official image of the poster for the following edition of the Legendary Climb Sierra Bermeja, with all entries shared on the organization’s social media networks @subidasierrabermeja.
