On Sunday, May 31, the II Paella Contest will take place at El Calvario Park. The registration period will be open from April 22 to May 18, with a maximum of 20 participants. Estepona’s City Council is organizing this event to showcase the town’s gastronomic culture and rice dish tradition, allowing people to enjoy this culinary experience at affordable prices. The initiative also aims to promote the use of local products. Individuals or groups of legal age are welcome to participate, with spots limited to 20 on a first-come, first-served basis. Contestants will need to bring their own cooking materials and ingredients, except for oil and vegetables which will be provided. Participants can prepare any type of rice dish with a minimum of 50 servings, available for tasting at €5 per serving from 2:00 pm onwards. Prizes will be awarded on the day of the contest, with the first prize being €1,000, followed by €500 for the second prize, and €250 for the third prize. Interested parties can download the registration form and required documents from the City of Estepona’s website and submit their applications to the Delegation of Culture from April 22 to May 18, 2026.
