The completion of the sixth public parking lot near El Carmen church, where parking costs 1 euro during the day, is nearing its end. The structure has been fully built and interior work has commenced. Simultaneously, urbanization efforts in the surrounding streets are ongoing. Paving has started on Padre Fernando and Guadiaro streets, with Manuel Navarro Mollor already completed. The parking lot construction is 85% done, facing challenges due to its urban location next to existing buildings. Once finished, a square will be created by the City Council, maintaining current surface parking lots and road traffic. The new El Carmen parking will offer over 300 spaces across three underground levels, adding to the 2,000 already available in Estepona. The project is funded by the EU’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with a total investment of 10,001,331 euros.
