The action, located between the Mar y Monte roundabout and La Alquería, includes not only sidewalks but also lighting, trees, and landscaping. The Estepona City Council informs that the project to provide sidewalks on the urban section of the Benahavís road is nearing completion. This initiative was requested by local residents and is being implemented following the transfer and acquisition of this 2.3-kilometer section by the city. The General Directorate of Road Infrastructure of the Ministry of Development, Land Development, and Housing of the Andalusian Government approved the transfer of ownership to Estepona municipality a few months ago. With a budget of 1,358,000 euros, the project aims to enhance the area by constructing sidewalks for pedestrian safety and connectivity between the A-7 and La Alqueria avenue, facilitating access to surrounding developments. The project, currently 75% finished, is in its final stages of sidewalk construction after completing route clearing, esplanade construction, and rainwater channel installation. Once the sidewalks are completed, additional work will focus on lighting, landscaping, and tree planting.
