Progress is currently being made on the renovation of Mirador Avenue, with upcoming work scheduled for Marqués del Duero and Montemayor streets. The total cost of the project is close to 3 million euros. The Estepona City Council has stated that the first phase of the redevelopment of the three main streets in Cancelada is progressing well and nearing completion. The renovation of Mirador, Marqués del Duero, and Montemayor streets is expected to cost 2,951,493 euros. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance urban streets in Estepona, transforming them into more pedestrian-friendly spaces and updating the underlying infrastructure. The project is divided into three phases to ensure that work on each street does not overlap. The current phase involves widening and sidewalk improvements on Mirador Avenue, which will become a one-way street heading south. The next phase will focus on Marqués del Duero street, also one-way but heading north, followed by the redevelopment of Montemayor street. In addition to new pavement, the planned renovations include upgrading the sewage, water supply, rainwater, and lighting systems in these streets and their surroundings. The City Council has opted for a coordinated approach to the renovations, with each phase starting only after the previous one has been completed and certified. This ensures that each street can function effectively for both traffic and service purposes.
