Last week, the 31st edition of the Junior Circuit took place at the Estepona Tennis and Paddle Club, with the backing of the Estepona City Council and the Royal Spanish and Andalusian Tennis Federation. The Estepona City Council announced that the Club de Tenis & Padel Estepona facilities successfully hosted the fifteenth round of the Youth Circuit RPT – Marca by Wilson powered by Ambrosía 2026, featuring the Cadet U16 and Junior U18 categories. This Youth Circuit, the longest-running in Spanish Tennis, is celebrating its thirty-first anniversary this year and is organized by the Professional Tennis Registry. The event was overseen by Alberto Gil, with David Gomez serving as the referee judge, supported by the Sports Delegation of the City of Estepona, Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, and the Andalusian Tennis Federation. The event’s presentation at the Estepona Town Hall was attended by various dignitaries, including Luis Gil, Luis Mediero, Fernando Gil, and Alberto Gil. The competition saw Nicolas Suarez defeat Mario Fiorone in the U16 Male Final, while Lucie Pelaez emerged victorious in the U16 Girls Final. In the U18 categories, Rubén Armijo triumphed over Javi Montes in the Men’s Final, and Sofya Pyzhyanova secured victory against Margaret Bell in the Women’s Final. Alongside the final matches, training and certification courses for tennis coaches were conducted by the Professional Tennis Registry and the Professional Padel Registry, led by Alberto Gil. Established in 1989, the Professional Tennis Registry boasts over 28,000 certified coaches across 131 countries, with a strong presence in Spain. The organization is recognized by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation and is a key promoter of Junior Tennis in the country, hosting the National Circuit RPT – MARCA by Wilson powered by Ambrosía since 1995. This year’s edition comprises 31 weeks of competition with 89 tests nationwide, supported by various sponsors. Over 6,000 players are expected to participate in the Circuit.
