The Estepona City Council supports once again the organization of a new edition of the Sports Event that lasts 24 Hours

Scheduled for June 13 and 14, the sports event will take place in various municipal facilities and will see over 6,500 athletes competing in 70 different sports disciplines. Mayor José María García Urbano, along with Manuel Vallejo, president of the 24 Hours Sports Foundation, unveiled the 49th edition of this significant sporting and social event set to occur on June 13 and 14. As in previous years, the 24 Hours Sports Foundation orchestrates this major sports event with the backing of the City Council. The mayor mentioned that the City Council supports the planning of each edition by providing financial aid, municipal personnel, and access to all municipal sports venues for the competitions. He expressed gratitude to the Foundation and its members for their dedication in organizing the games, which attract more than 6,500 athletes and around 20,000 spectators, turning Estepona into a prominent sports hub during the event. Emphasizing the importance of the 24 Hours Sports, the mayor affirmed the City Council’s ongoing assistance to ensure the event’s continued success and prominence in the region, especially as it approaches its 50th anniversary next year. Manuel Vallejo highlighted that the sports festival will feature 70 different sports, including both established and new competitions. Notable additions include the Flag Football Championship, a rugby showcase, a thrilling Carrera de Autos Locos, an Andalusian Frisbee Tournament, and the iconic I Subida Mítica a Sierra Bermeja hill climb event with over 300 participants. Soccer remains the most popular sport with significant participation in various formats, such as 11-a-side, indoor, and beach soccer. The Plaza del Recinto Ferial will host a variety of exhibitions and performances, from kickboxing and martial arts to dance and fitness shows. Additionally, the event will include nautical activities, shooting sports, paddle tennis, judo, kickboxing, basketball, golf, chess, badminton, angling, karting, frisbee, table tennis, beach tennis, and volleyball tournaments. The president of the 24 Hours Sports Foundation extended special thanks to the City Council, local sports organizations, partners, sponsors, and the entire community of Estepona for their unwavering support that enables the successful annual celebration of this grand sports festival.
