Starting on June 18, the painting exhibition ‘Contrasts’ by Madrid-based artist Fernando López Lorrio will be showcased at Room 1 of La Casa de Las Tejerinas in Plaza de las Flores. The exhibition explores the juxtaposition of geometric abstraction with abstract expressionism, blending line and volume with deep emotions and subconscious expressions. Moving beyond traditional figuration, the showcase delves into form, space, and materials through abstraction. Fernando López Lorrio, following a family tradition, began his artistic journey in 1996 as a self-taught artist. With a background in Abstract Expressionism and Constructivism, he experiments with volumes and materials, creating pure paintings without paint. Inspired by literature and landscapes, his work portrays images of unreachable places. The exhibition will run until July 1, open Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
