The Estepona bullring will host free performances of Puccini’s *Madama Butterfly* and Federico Chueca’s *Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente* on July 24 and 25 at 9:00 p.m. The Teatro Lírico Andaluz theater company, under the direction of Pablo Prados, will present these two plays. The Opera Festival, organized by the Estepona City Council, aims to offer residents a chance to enjoy opera and zarzuela for free. *Madama Butterfly* by Puccini will be showcased on Friday, July 24, followed by *Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente* by Federico Chueca on Saturday, July 25. Both performances start at 9:00 p.m. and are open to the public until full capacity is reached. *Madama Butterfly* is Puccini’s first exotic opera, based on the short story ‘Madame Butterfly’ by John Luther Long and Pierre Loti’s novel *Madame Chrysanthème*. On the other hand, *Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente* is a one-act zarzuela with a libretto by Miguel Ramos Carrión and music by Federico Chueca.
