The Estepona City Council is making progress on the Urban Development Plan, a local project focused on enhancing the upkeep and development of residential and commercial areas within the city. Deputy mayor Blas Ruzafa, responsible for Services and External Control, has reported that the Neighborhood Brigade is currently active in the Sierra Estepona region. One of their tasks involves reorganizing traffic flow on three streets, resulting in an increase of 98 parking spaces. Miguel Clavijo Street will see a rise from 36 to 70 parking spots, Pilar Bardem Street from 30 to 53, and Alejo Carpentier Street from 38 to 79. The council is also working on improving two parking lots by compacting the ground, laying concrete on access roads, marking parking spaces, and fencing off the area. Additionally, sidewalk repairs, mobility enhancements, streetlight replacements with energy-efficient options, and installation of speed bumps for traffic calming are part of the project. Furthermore, around 90 trees will be planted in the area to boost greenery, create shaded spots, enhance the environment, and beautify the surroundings. These efforts, developed in collaboration with neighborhood associations, reflect the council’s commitment to improving infrastructure, public services, environmental sustainability, and the overall quality of life for residents.
