With the exterior development now finished, attention has turned to the final details of the interior facilities. The upcoming El Carmen public parking garage, the sixth addition to the municipal parking network offering a daytime rate of 1 euro, will provide over 300 spaces across three underground levels. The Estepona City Council announces that construction on the new parking garage is nearing completion, with exterior landscaping and underground structural work already done. The focus is now on completing the interior facilities, including polishing floors and equipment cleaning. Anticipated to open this summer, the garage will require final permits for operation. Surrounding streets like Manuel Navarro Mollor, Padre Fernando, and Guadiaro have been paved in recent months. The project’s execution has been technically challenging due to its central location and proximity to other buildings, necessitating careful work during initial construction phases. Following project completion, the City Council plans to create a new public square in the area, enhancing the city center’s appearance and functionality while maintaining traffic flow. The El Carmen parking garage will augment the city’s existing 2,000 municipal parking spaces, all charging a 1 euro rate during the day, at facilities like the new City Hall, Antonia Guerrero Square, the Athletics Stadium, Plaza del Ajedrez, and La Viña. Additionally, plans for another underground parking garage on Bulevar de Estepona are underway, adding 300 more spaces.
