The traditional distribution of carnations by the queens and ladies of the Fair and Annual Festivals will take place, along with the presentation of the ‘Honorary Tourist 2026’ award. A new addition this year is a complimentary yoga session accompanied by live flamenco guitar music. The Estepona City Council has announced that Tourist Day will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, to express gratitude to visitors who have chosen the city as their holiday destination. Festivities will commence at 9:00 a.m. on the Paseo Marítimo (near the La Menina sculpture) with the introduction of a free yoga session accompanied by live flamenco guitar music for the first time. According to Ana Velasco, Deputy Mayor for FIT (Development, Infrastructure, and Tourism), the City Council is dedicated to the well-being of its residents and promoting a healthy lifestyle. At 12:00 p.m., the ‘Honorary Tourist 2026’ award will be bestowed upon Pedro Javier Rodríguez Pérez and Paula Medina Denja as part of the day’s activities, recognizing their long-standing connection with the city. Subsequently, the queens and ladies of the Fair and Annual Festivals will distribute carnations to tourists in various downtown locations such as Real and Terraza streets, Las Flores and Doctor Arce squares, and the Paseo Marítimo. Additionally, an outdoor information booth will be set up by the City Council near the Tourist Office (Plaza de las Flores), offering brochures in multiple languages to inform tourists about the array of cultural, sports, and leisure activities available in Estepona.
