With a budget of 196,123 euros, including VAT, the Estepona City Council is seeking proposals for the purchase and installation of 138 solar streetlights in seven different areas along the coastal corridor. The goal is to enhance lighting quality and energy efficiency in these locations. The selected areas for the new streetlights are Isdabe, Benamara, Guadalmansa, La Gaspara, Avenida México, Bahía Dorada 3, and Bahía Dorada Beach. By harnessing solar energy, these streetlights aim to reduce reliance on the power grid and promote sustainability. This initiative forms part of the municipality’s strategy to upgrade public lighting infrastructure and enhance energy efficiency across various public spaces and roads. Previous projects include the replacement of 350 light fixtures in city parks with LED technology, resulting in a 65 percent reduction in power consumption and savings of over 95,000 kilowatt-hours per year, equivalent to around 27,000 euros saved annually.
