A bidding process has been initiated by the City Council for the comprehensive renovation of four parks and the refurbishment of another 10. Estepona’s City Council has announced that a total of 14 playgrounds in the city center and surrounding areas will undergo renovation and refurbishment. The Deputy Mayor responsible for Services and External Oversight, Blas Ruzafa, has revealed that the City Council will invest 841,942 euros in upgrading these public spaces intended for children. Among the playgrounds set for complete renovation are Huerta Nueva, the Human Rights playground on Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer Street, the playground near the Ramón Lago School in Cancelada, and the Los Niños playground on Polonia Street. At Huerta Nueva playground, the current play equipment will be replaced by a ‘Pirate Ship’ multi-play structure featuring various elements. The Human Rights playground will see the installation of a three-tower play structure, swings, seesaws, and more. The park near the Ramón Lago School will undergo a transformation with a new play structure and safety features. Los Niños Park will also receive new equipment and play structures. Additionally, the City Council will work on the renovation and improvement of 10 other playgrounds across the city. This extensive project is part of the second phase of upgrading Estepona’s parks and playgrounds, following the successful completion of the first phase last year, which involved 18 playgrounds and an investment of 1.1 million euros.
