The municipal facility on Terraza Street has been transferred to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) by the Estepona City Council for a period of twenty years. This move aims to ensure the continuity of the organization’s care and support services in the area. The Councilwoman for Social Integration and Social Services, María Aguilar, stated that this arrangement will offer the association a stable and suitable space for its activities. Situated at 170 Terraza Street, the property includes three rooms tailored for the organization’s services. Here, the AECC provides free care to cancer patients and their families, delivering psychological support, social services, physical therapy, and medical assistance at home and in hospitals. The president of the AECC in Estepona, Julia Crespo, highlighted the workshops and activities organized throughout the year to enhance the well-being of those affected by the disease and their families. The provincial president of the AECC, Juan Carlos Martín, emphasized the importance of this support to ensure the organization’s continued operations in suitable facilities. The City Council of Estepona underlined its commitment to social organizations offering essential services to residents, striving to facilitate their work under optimal conditions. This collaboration further solidifies the partnership between the City Council and the AECC, a prominent organization in cancer patient care and family support. It also acknowledges the association’s efforts in prevention, awareness-raising, and cancer research. By providing such spaces, the Estepona City Council reinforces its support for social organizations in the area, enhancing the care and assistance available to residents in need.
