The completion of infrastructure projects has resulted in the reopening of the area surrounding the Carmen Church to the public and vehicular traffic. This includes the restoration of the connection between Manuel Navarro Mollor Street and Virgen del Mar Square, as well as the renovation of the surface of the new El Carmen parking lot. The Estepona City Council has announced that residents can now enjoy a revamped urban space in the heart of downtown, with normal vehicular traffic operations resumed. The exterior urban development work has not only renewed the pavement and adapted spaces for pedestrians and vehicles, but also included a major landscaping project with the planting of various trees and shrubs, as well as the installation of an irrigation system. This project complements the construction of the new El Carmen public parking garage, which will offer over 300 spaces across three underground levels. The area’s reopening marks the successful completion of the exterior urban development work, enhancing connectivity in downtown Estepona.
