The municipal government is leading the way in Andalusia by adopting a cutting-edge technology that not only saves water by 60%, but also eliminates chemicals and streamlines work processes. Estepona City Council is dedicated to embracing new technologies to enhance public services, and has introduced a groundbreaking system utilizing drones to clean the facades of public buildings. The initiative kicked off at the Mirador del Carmen building, a prominent landmark in the city with eight floors housing unique spaces such as a vertical library, an exhibition hall, a music conservatory, and an auditorium. This innovative approach not only improves efficiency and environmental sustainability, but also enhances safety for workers by eliminating the need for cranes and scaffolding at heights. By utilizing drones, the cleaning process is accelerated, covering more surface area in less time with unparalleled precision and coverage compared to traditional methods. Additionally, this technology promotes water conservation by approximately 60% and eliminates the use of harmful chemicals, thanks to the advanced reverse osmosis system that purifies water without the need for harsh products. Estepona City Council now stands as a trailblazer in Andalusia for incorporating drones in building maintenance, in collaboration with the cleaning service provider and the specialized company KTV Working Drone Spain. These drones have the capacity to clean between 500 and 3,000 square meters of surface area in a single day.
