The singer ‘Martirio’ to shine in the Poetry Day event in Estepona

On the day of Poetry in Estepona, the artist known as Martirio will take the stage alongside composer and guitarist Raúl Rodríguez to present the show ‘Travesía’ at the Felipe VI Auditorium. This event will also see the announcement of the winner of the V International Poetry Prize ‘Ciudad de Estepona’. Maribel Quiñones Gutiérrez, popularly known as ‘Martirio’, will showcase her talent in Estepona on May 8. Joining forces with Raúl Rodríguez, the artist will deliver the performance of ‘Travesía’. The event will feature the presence of Luis Alberto de Cuenca, the current president of the jury. De Cuenca, a highly acclaimed writer, has recently released a poetry anthology titled ‘Los dedos de la aurora. Poems of the classical world’, showcasing his unique perspective on the ancient world. The prestigious V International Poetry Prize ‘Ciudad de Estepona’, offering a prize of 7,000 euros along with publication by Pre-Textos, has established itself as a prominent literary event in Spain, attracting over 2,000 entries in its latest edition. The contest director Alejandro Simón Partal commended the City Council’s dedication to cultural promotion, emphasizing the prize’s growing appeal to Spanish-speaking writers worldwide. The jury’s decision will be announced on May 8. Martirio, formerly part of Jarcha and Veneno, has made significant contributions to Spanish popular music and copla, earning the Medal of Merit for Fine Arts in 2019. Luis Alberto de Cuenca, a renowned poet, philologist, and translator, has received numerous accolades for his literary and journalistic achievements.
