The 11th edition of the renowned Popi City of Estepona World Ham Contest is set to take place on the Paseo Marítimo from August 7 to 16. This culinary extravaganza will feature nightly free concerts by popular artists like Melón Diesel, Nolasco, La Frontera, and Henry Méndez. Salomé Hidalgo, the Provincial Representative and Estepona City Councilmember, joined ham carver José María Téllez ‘Popi’ to unveil the event, which is a showcase for the province’s finest products. With 65 exhibitors participating, the contest attracts over 500,000 visitors annually, solidifying its status as a major gastronomic and tourist event in Andalusia. The festival, designated an Event of Tourist Interest, will offer a diverse range of ham products, cheeses, wines, and more at affordable prices. Producers affiliated with ‘Sabor a Málaga’ will also present local delicacies, fostering direct interaction between producers and consumers. The event will not only highlight the culinary heritage of the province but also boost economic activity and tourism in Estepona and Málaga.
