The organization, which caters to 40 children with high potential in the town, has been delivering its services since 2018 in facilities provided by the Estepona City Council. The Estepona City Council announces that the Estepona, Marbella, and San Pedro Alcantara High Potential Children Support Group (ACM) will host a day of coexistence and open day at its headquarters in Estepona on Saturday, May 9. Families interested in getting insights into the initiatives undertaken by this organization with children diagnosed with high potential can join on that day, starting from 12.00 pm, at the address on Calle Santo Tomás de Aquino. Since 2018, the City Council has been providing these municipal facilities to ACM to offer its services in the locality. The councilor responsible for the Education sector, María Aguilar, emphasizes that ACM Estepona provides a diverse range of extracurricular activities and workshops aimed at the cognitive, creative, and emotional development of students with high intellectual abilities. Additionally, the group also conducts a Parents’ School to assist families and caregivers of these children in personal, family, educational, and social matters. Throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, the organization conducts workshops on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. These activities include engaging in fun science, archeology, an art and creativity lab, a robotics lab, as well as cognitive, creative, and emotional development workshops. The entire program is tailored for students aged between 5 and 18. Aguilar clarifies that ACM’s goal is to address the requirements of young individuals with high intellectual capabilities and establish support and acknowledgment at social, educational, and family levels to ensure their holistic growth as individuals. The association itself highlights that students with high intellectual abilities have specific educational needs and necessitate personalized attention and specific educational support for a duration of schooling or throughout their educational journey. The management of ACM asserts that students with high intellectual abilities do not constitute a uniform group, hence there are no common characteristics, and thus, these children require individualized care. The president of ACM, Daniel Perez, notes that during this academic session, a total of 117 families and 140 students across the region have benefited from this association. The chief also mentions that throughout all the years of the entity’s operation, 510 families and nearly 250 students have been served.
