On Sunday, the 26th of July, the 9th edition of the Virgen del Carmen Coronada Swim took place at La Rada Beach in Estepona. This non-competitive and non-profit event saw a total of 218 swimmers, including 28 clubs and 75 independent participants. Among them, 18 were members of the Estepona Swimming Club, competing in three categories. The winners included Lilia Benfares Le Bon, Sara Moreno Sohlberg, Rocio Roncero Aguilera, Leo Muñoz Sánchez-beato, Adrian Novac, Javier Núñez Hormigo, Alexia Monge Aixelá, Alicia Lozano Mandesis, Paloma Redondo Zamora, Víctor Rodríguez Castro, Stuart Owen Andrews Pereira, Daniel Rodríguez García, Sara España Escobar, Blanca Mena Orozco, Emma Moreno Sohlberg, Rafael López Ortega, Sergio Banderas Moreno, Daniel Ramírez Melgar, Fátima Souissi Ayuso, Cristina Barbara Matesanz Barron, Julia Fernandez Jimenez, Angel Méndez Sarria, Carlos Rodríguez Ruiz, and José Luis Gutiérrez Rodríguez. The Virgen del Carmen Coronada Swim Crossing is organized by the Estepona Swimming Club (CNE) in partnership with the Estepona City Council, aiming to promote swimming and encourage participation from local and international athletes. The event also supports the Hermandad Nuestra Señora del Carmen Coronada by collecting non-perishable food items for donation to Cáritas Parroquial del Carmen.
