A charity event is scheduled to take place on November 7, 8, and 9 at the Estepona Tennis and Paddle Club with the aim of raising funds for Nicolas’ treatments in Barcelona. The Estepona Town Hall has announced that the club will host a charity paddle tournament during these dates to support Nicolas, an 11-year-old boy dealing with neurological issues following a brain tumor. Despite being in remission, Nicolas requires specialized and costly treatments in Barcelona, posing a financial challenge for his family. The event aims to rally athletes, residents, and local businesses to aid in his recovery and enhance his quality of life. The tournament will feature various categories and registrations can be completed through the Bola app. Attendees can also participate in a solidarity raffle with prizes, as well as purchase solidarity merchandise to contribute to the cause, even if they do not play. Luis Miguel Gil, the Sports Councillor, has expressed his backing for the initiative, highlighting the unifying power of sports in achieving remarkable feats. He urges the entire Estepona community to stand with Nicolas and his family, emphasizing that the tournament is not just about paddle, but a gesture of solidarity and hope. Alberto Gil, the president of the Estepona Tennis and Paddle Club, encourages widespread participation in the tournament and support for the cause. He stresses that the tournament is inclusive of all age groups and skill levels, with opportunities for on-site contributions from the public.
