The renovation project included pavement upgrades, water pipe replacements, painting, installation of decorative fountains, and redesign of planters, among other tasks. Estepona’s Municipal Assembly has announced the successful completion of the comprehensive renovation works at Las Musas and Olimpo squares, situated in the Huerta Nueva neighborhood. Deputy Mayor Blas Ruzafa, responsible for Services and External Control, detailed the improvements made in both public areas, such as pavement enhancements, water pipe replacements, square painting, and the revitalization of green spaces through the introduction of various plant species. Furthermore, ornamental fountains have been added to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the squares, while local artist Toby Govan has restored the existing sculptures. The installation of decorative lighting has also been completed to illuminate the squares during the night, further enhancing the beauty of Huerta Nueva. Ruzafa highlighted the asphalting and painting of all existing parking spaces, including those designated for individuals with disabilities. Bumpers have been installed in these parking areas to prevent vehicles from encroaching onto the sidewalks. Moreover, new entrances have been constructed to improve accessibility for pedestrians and individuals with limited mobility, with sidewalks being widened to facilitate movement.
