The Estepona City Council has announced the installation of these sports spaces, providing a total of eight areas for table tennis enthusiasts. Five tables are already in use, while the remaining three are still being set up. The councilman in charge of Sports, Luis Gil, has revealed that the new facilities can be found in different locations including neighborhood Primavera, Plaza de los Remedios, Centro Cultural Padre Manuel, Blas Infante-Picasso neighborhood, Guillermo Cabrera street, Cancelada, Barrio Solis, and Plaza Juanito Valderrama. These anti-vandal tennis tables are blue, with a sturdy structure, legs, thermoplastic net, and a 55-millimeter board, meeting all necessary certifications. The investment for this project amounts to 15,439.69 euros (including VAT). Luis Gil emphasized the numerous benefits of playing table tennis, highlighting its low-impact nature, muscle toning without joint strain, enhanced hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and mental agility. Additionally, it provides great cardiovascular exercise, reduces stress, and improves cognitive health.
