The proposed path projects go through Isdabe/Atalaya, Guadalmina Baja/Casasola, and Costa Natura. Estepona’s City Council has completed drafting the projects for the last three sections needed to fully complete the coastal pathway. Ana Velasco, Deputy Mayor of Development, Infrastructure, and Tourism (FIT), has stated that the projects for Isdabe / Atalaya, Guadalmina Baja / Casasola, and Costa Natura have been finalized. The municipality has submitted these projects to the Department of Sustainability and Environment for review and approval following mandatory reports from the Coastal Demarcation. Once the regional administration’s technicians provide favorable reports, the City Council can proceed to tender the construction works. The documentation submitted to the Junta de AndalucĂa includes the basic project, justification report, detailed plans, technical reports, budgets, and photographic evidence, among other documents. Velasco has mentioned that upon completing the pending works in the three sections, the coastal pathway will connect the 23 kilometers of Estepona’s coastline. This infrastructure is crucial for sustainable mobility, tourism, and environmental protection, aiming to link the entire coastal area of the municipality. The completed and pending sections ensure the safeguarding of the maritime-terrestrial public domain while facilitating passage for pedestrians and cyclists.
