The campaign known as ‘Ecólatras Andalucía’, led by Ecovidrio in collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment of the Andalusian Government and the Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), aims to reward the best recycling and sustainability ideas with prizes of up to 2,000 euros. Estepona City Council announces its involvement in the II Edition of this initiative, which seeks to highlight the most outstanding environmental projects in the region. Citizens, associations, schools, and local groups are encouraged to participate in creating initiatives that promote glass recycling and environmental care. Proposals can focus on various areas such as environmental awareness, responsible consumption, nature protection, sustainable innovation, and circular economy solutions, all aimed at improving the environment and fostering more sustainable habits. The most impactful initiative in Andalusia will receive recognition and a financial prize of 2,000 euros. Additionally, municipalities showing a strong commitment to sustainability will be acknowledged for their efforts in increasing glass recycling rates, promoting initiatives, and engaging local communities. Estepona City Council emphasizes the importance of such initiatives in advancing towards a more sustainable urban model and urges residents to get involved in protecting the environment. Glass recycling is highlighted as a crucial element in combating climate change, offering benefits such as complete container reuse, waste reduction, energy savings, and decreased CO2 emissions. Citizens are invited to actively participate in the campaign by sharing their ideas and contributing to a more sustainable future for Estepona and Andalusia.
