The period for registration will be open from April 6 to 27, with the jury selecting the top eight crosses on Saturday, May 2. Prizes include 1,000 € for the best cross, 750 € for the second, 500 € for the third, and 300 € for the remaining five. Estepona’s City Council has revealed that, in honor of the May Crosses festival, the Festivities department has arranged a traditional contest for Brotherhoods, Brotherhoods, and Neighborhood Associations to participate on May 2. The competition aims to promote the embellishment of streets and squares with crosses and floral displays. Those wishing to enter can find the rules on the City Council’s Electronic Notice Board and download the registration form from Annex I. Completed applications must be submitted to the City Hall Entry Register by April 27, 2026, addressed to the Festivals department. Both the rules and registration form are accessible on the City Council’s notice board for in-person or Electronic Office submissions by April 27. This year’s edition features a single category for the best cross in streets or squares, with prizes set at 1,000 € for first place, 750 € for second, 500 € for third, and 300 € for fourth to eighth. The jury will visit the Crosses on May 2 at 12:00 noon and evaluate based on criteria such as beauty, location decoration, traditional relevance, craftsmanship, and details.
