The property tax (IBI) bills have been cut by an average of 50%, with services being enhanced and investments increased following the achievement of ‘zero debt.’ Estepona City Council is building on its strongest economic indicators ever after eliminating its debt a year ago. With over 300 million euros paid off, the City Council now has solid finances, allowing for a historic tax reduction. More than 7 million euros have been allocated primarily for property tax (IBI) rebates and exempting vulnerable groups from the garbage collection fee. Mayor José MarÃa GarcÃa Urbano highlights the Council’s commitment to supporting all families, especially the most vulnerable, without raising taxes. The tax relief measures are possible due to the City Council’s fiscal discipline and high per capita public spending to boost the local economy.
