A call for bids has been announced by the City Council of Estepona for the 7th Municipal Paving Plan, which involves an investment exceeding 1.9 million euros. This project will focus on enhancing the city’s road network by resurfacing approximately twenty streets in the city center and outskirts. The improvement work is scheduled to span five months and will target roads like Carmen Laforet Street, Puerta del Mar Avenue, Los Reales Avenue, Segovia Avenue, Camelias Street, RÃo Guadalmina Street, Lubina Street, Alfarnate, AlcaucÃn, México Avenue, Violeta Street, Levante Street, Del Reposo Street, BahÃa Azul residential development, Tenis Street, Romero Street, Camomila Street, Paz Avenue, and Edison Street. The deteriorating condition of these roads due to wear and tear, material aging, and structural integrity loss has led to surface defects and potholes. The overarching goal of this project is to enhance road functionality, safety, and longevity through comprehensive renovation efforts. Social clauses integrated into the bidding process mandate the employment of at least two individuals with disabilities or facing employment challenges, with one dedicated to administrative roles. This initiative builds upon the success of previous paving plans that have revitalized over 250 streets and improved around 300,000 square meters of road surface in Estepona. The ongoing transformation of the city includes the revitalization of the historic center and beautification of various municipal areas. Estepona City Council remains committed to implementing further plans to enhance traffic safety by addressing road conditions in both urban and suburban areas.
