Following years of efforts, the Estepona City Council has obtained authorization from the central government to proceed with a project aimed at improving access to the elevated pedestrian bridge linking the ‘El Paraíso’ and ‘Benamara’ residential areas. The council will oversee the installation of access ramps to facilitate the use of this bridge by individuals with limited mobility and cyclists. Interested parties can submit their bids for the construction work through the Public Sector Procurement Platform until August 12. The project, with a base bid price of 164,074.97 euros, will involve the construction of reinforced concrete ramps on both sides of the bridge, making it easier for residents to access. This initiative, long requested by residents, underscores the council’s commitment to enhancing mobility in the municipality. In addition, the City Council has proposed funding a new access road from the A-7 to Estepona, recognizing the importance of infrastructure improvements to accommodate the area’s population growth. Deputy Mayor Ana Velasco has highlighted the council’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity in the outskirts, including recent road construction projects and plans for future developments.
