Today, Mayor José María García Urbano of Estepona met with instructors at the city’s preschools to mark the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. Over the summer, more than 120,000 euros have been invested in improvements to the five municipal preschools. Mayor García Urbano discussed these upgrades during a meeting with the teachers, highlighting enhancements such as a new air conditioning system at Los Pitufos and laminate flooring at the Cancelada preschool. Safety surfacing is also being installed at El Mar preschool. Additionally, 50,000 euros were allocated for maintenance work at the preschools to ensure they are in top condition for the new school year. The City Council is also offering free socio-educational support for one- and two-year-olds at centers participating in the “Family Assistance Program”. This investment is part of a larger plan to enhance educational facilities in Estepona, including the installation of cooling and heating units at various schools. With an investment of over 800,000 euros, the City Council is committed to improving the safety and functionality of educational spaces for students and the entire community.
