Citizens are informed by the Estepona City Council that traffic has been reinstated on the rural roads of Los Polvitos and Marimacho following the conclusion of renovation projects aimed at improving circulation for residents in these areas. The refurbishment of the Marimacho road involved concreting a 200-meter section of steep slope to prevent landslides during rainy seasons, along with cleaning of ditches and smoothing the rest of the road with gravel. Similarly, the Los Polvitos road underwent construction of a breakwater wall to address landslides caused by surface water accumulation during heavy rains. Surface water drainage systems were also implemented, and the affected road surface was paved. These efforts are now underway on the La Malagueña rural road, where Canteras Almargen, S.L. has initiated construction of another breakwater wall to mitigate potential issues in case of heavy rainfall, resulting in temporary traffic disruptions in the upcoming days.
