A program of events has been organized by the local council, featuring renowned figures such as filmmaker Ángeles González Sinde, Botín Foundation director Íñigo Sáenz de Miera, poets Antonio Lucas and Ben Clark, and musician Alejandro Pela. The Library of Contemporary Cultures, spanning eight floors in the Mirador del Carmen, will be inaugurated on Thursday, 21st. The opening will include cultural activities like a colloquium with Ángeles González Sinde, as well as music and poetry performances. The public can visit the new facilities during an open day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the official opening ceremony starting at 8.30 p.m. The library is equipped with cutting-edge technology and resources across its eight floors, offering various spaces for activities like podcast recording, digital printing, workshops, and more. The space aims to provide a unique cultural and technological experience for visitors and is part of the Mirador del Carmen Tower’s facilities, alongside the auditorium, exhibition hall, and Conservatory of Music. The library caters to different age groups, with dedicated areas for children, teenagers, and adults, providing a range of services from study and research to multimedia and recreational activities.
