A project worth 261,429 euros will see the installation of 310 new LED luminaires in six municipal parks, aiming to improve energy efficiency and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly lighting. The Estepona City Council has launched a tender to revamp the outdoor lighting system in Constitution Park, Human Rights Park, Los NiƱos Park, Seghers Park, Carmen Thyssen Park, and Huerta Nueva Park. The initiative involves replacing existing equipment with LED technology, along with necessary infrastructure works. Functional and scenic lighting will be added to enhance safety and aesthetics. The design prioritizes safety, health, and minimal environmental impact by reducing blue light emission, using 3000K luminaires with controlled flux, and avoiding glare. Special attention will be given to green areas and habitats to limit light dispersion. The project also includes setting light levels and intensity curves based on actual usage, incorporating public health and sustainability criteria to ensure a balance between safety, comfort, and biodiversity. This effort underscores the council’s commitment to a more efficient, secure, and eco-friendly city model.
