Approximately thirty vehicles will embark on the expedition from the Fair and Sports grounds entrance on Thursday, April 17. The route will take them through Morocco to distribute crucial health and educational supplies to those in need. Estepona City Council has announced that on Thursday, April 17, the city will once again serve as the official starting point for the Charity Car Rally ‘Desert Trek’ 2025, an untimed motor and orienteering event open to all, blending adventure with charity. The event pays homage to the historic motorized journeys and expeditions across Africa. Organized by Motor Adventure S.L. in partnership with the City Council, the non-competitive rally will kick off at 09:00 at the Fair and Sports Enclosure entrance, where teams will be introduced and technical checks will be conducted. The vehicles will be stationed there until 13:00 when they will head towards the port of Algeciras to set sail for Africa. This year’s thirteenth edition, with Estepona as the eighth starting point, will see thirty vehicles participating, split into two categories: ‘Desert Trek’ for small vintage vehicles from the 80s and 90s, and ‘All-Terrain’ for SUVs and 4x4s. The caravan will traverse Morocco over a week-long journey, following a specially designed route that will challenge both the participants’ physical and mental stamina and the vehicles’ mechanics. A core principle of Oasis Raid is supporting the underprivileged communities in the Moroccan territories visited, by providing essential health and educational resources to families in need.
