The exhibition will be unveiled on March 27 and will remain on display until April 9, welcoming visitors free of charge. The municipality of Estepona has announced that the first room of Casa de Las Tejerinas, situated in Plaza de las Flores, will showcase the painting collection ‘El hilo rojo: Reflexiones al femenino’ by Carla Bressan starting from March 27. Comprising 20 artworks, the exhibition will be officially launched at 18.00 on the 27th and will be accessible until April 9. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Friday, 09.00 to 20.00, and Saturdays, 09.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 20.00, with no entrance fee. Carla Bressan, originally from Italy and raised in Venezuela, currently resides in Chiclana de la Frontera, Cadiz, and is engaged in communication, marketing, and European projects. With a passion for painting since childhood, she enjoys transforming blank canvases and paper into vibrant colors and shapes, deriving inspiration from her imagination. Bressan employs diverse materials to create ‘mini installations’, repurposing old canvases to infuse them with ‘new dignity’ while incorporating elements like used fabrics or dress patterns into her pieces. Her work spans across various mediums, all utilizing mixed media techniques. Particularly drawn to environmental and women’s issues, she finds inspiration in the resilience of women navigating societal norms and cultural expectations. Holding a B.A. in Hispanic Literature and Fine Arts from the College of Charleston, South Carolina, USA, and a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Education from Cambridge College, Massachusetts, USA, Bressan has honed her skills through workshops with renowned artists such as Marco Dolfi in Italy and Carmen Silvana Arcinega Cardoza in Cancun, Mexico. She has showcased her art in group exhibitions worldwide, including countries like Austria, Belgium, Spain, USA, Holland, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland.
