The showcase of painter Alejandro Hermann’s work, titled ‘From Figure to Matter,’ will be unveiled at the Mirador del Carmen tomorrow, August 18, at 8:00 p.m. The exhibition will be open to the public until September 19, with free admission. Estepona City Council has announced that the Exhibition Hall at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center will be the venue for this event. Argentine artist Alejandro Hermann, a resident of Marbella for over three decades, will present nearly thirty works that delve into the transformation of image, color, and matter. Hermann’s paintings stem from a process of reduction, shifting from figure to matter and image to trace. Using charcoal, pigments, and oxides, he creates textured surfaces that capture the essence of time. Blurring the boundaries between figuration and abstraction, his pieces offer a meditative journey where matter serves as the primary language of his art. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Hermann has explored various styles, themes, and techniques, ranging from figurative to abstract expressions. His goal is to prompt contemplation and evoke inner emotions of serenity, equilibrium, and introspection. Hermann’s artwork has been showcased in group and solo exhibitions across Spain and Europe, with collections in major cities worldwide. Additionally, he is involved in philanthropic endeavors with organizations like UNICEF, the Lions Club, the Padre Ostos Foundation, and CUDECA.
