The dancer hailing from Jerez will present a workshop that delves into the interplay of movement, music, and stage presence. Estepona City Council has announced that the renowned dancer Leonor Leal will lead a body expression workshop titled ‘De voz, un cuerpo’, scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 pm in the exhibition hall of the Library of Contemporary Cultures. This workshop is part of the cultural program for the initial quarter of activities at this venue. The session aims to explore the body as a tool for expression, focusing on the connections between voice, rhythm, and motion. It is open to individuals with dance experience and those interested in exploring new forms of physical expression from a contemporary perspective with ties to flamenco. Leonor Leal, originally from Jerez de la Frontera, initiated her dance education at the age of 9 and completed her studies in classical and Spanish dance at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville. Additionally, she pursued studies in Musical Education at the University of Seville. Leal has honed her craft under the guidance of esteemed flamenco maestros and has built a successful professional trajectory with companies like Andrés Marín and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, directed by Cristina Hoyos. Since 2008, she has focused on her role as a creator and solo dancer, receiving acclaim for productions such as ‘eLe eLe’, which earned her the Best New Artist accolade at the Jerez Festival, and ‘Mosaicos’, where she explores the intersections of geometry, music, and dance. Her work has taken her to stages worldwide, allowing her to combine her artistic endeavors with extensive teaching engagements in Spain and beyond. The workshop is free of charge, but availability is limited. To secure a spot, please email bcc@estepona.es
