The current Spanish M55 Indoor High Jump Champion, Luis Merayo Cantalapiedra, has secured two medals at the 2025 European Masters Outdoor Championships in Madeira, Portugal. Estepona City Council has announced that Merayo won the silver medal in High Jump and the bronze medal in Long Jump. His impressive performances included a 1.65-meter jump in the high jump discipline and a 5.69-meter attempt in the long jump. Apart from his recent success, Merayo also holds various titles such as the 2024 world runner-up in M55 outdoor high jump, the bronze medalist in the 2024 World Championships in M55 outdoor long jump, and the 2025 Spanish champion in M55 indoor and outdoor high jump. Additionally, he clinched two bronze medals at the World Indoor Masters Athletics Championships 2025 in Florida earlier this year.
