Martirio, Miguel Poveda and Laura García Lorca to Take Part in Estepona’s Poetry Celebration

Participating in the Poetry Day in Estepona will be ‘La Bien Querida’, poets Carlos Marzal, Ana Merino, Carlos Pardo, and Sofía Castañón, journalist Marta Fernández, and award-winning novelist Ana Merino. The V International Poetry Prize ‘Ciudad de Estepona’ will feature acclaimed creators like Martirio, Miguel Poveda, and Laura García Lorca. Estepona’s mayor, José María García Urbano, and Poetry Day organizer Alejandro Simón Partal presented the lineup for the event, scheduled for May 8. This year marks a record-breaking number of submissions, with over 2,300 manuscripts from various countries. The winning work will be awarded 7,000 euros and published by Pre-Textos. The day will include poetry readings, musical performances, and dialogues with renowned figures in literature and art. Miguel Poveda, Laura García Lorca, and Martirio will be among the highlights of the celebration. Poveda, known for his tribute to Federico García Lorca, has received numerous accolades for his contributions to Spanish music. Laura García Lorca, president of the García Lorca Foundation, has dedicated herself to preserving and promoting her uncle’s legacy. Martirio, a versatile artist, will showcase her repertoire from flamenco to blues in a special performance. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of poetry and artistic expression.
